GOALS:During the international in-service course for teachers called European TeacherSynthesize (ETSize):1. Learning materials already developed for teacher trainees within the Comeniusproject named “FACE IT” will be disseminated.2. Mixed groups of teachers from several European countries transform theselearning materials into teaching material that can be used by their pupils.3. The materials developed by the course participants will be brought together asonline teaching materials, including a teachers’ guide and bundled into an e-book,that will be published online.4. Course participants will learn how to work within a digital community (calledmoodle), where they can upload the materials developed and share their experiencesof usage.5. The most important meaning of this course is to enhance the mobility of teachersand to give the teachers tools to work with the European Dimension in education inEurope.By working together in mixed European groups, producing teaching materialstogether, the European Dimension in schools will be improved and internationalcollaboration between schools will be promoted and stimulated. A spin-off effect ofparticipating in this ETSize course might be the establishment of a "EuropeanTeacher" network of universities and schools.LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION:The courses will be taught in English.OUTCOME:A group of 5 teachers will work internationally together and create internationalteaching material as well as a teachers’ guide to be transformed into an e-bookduring the ETSize conference in Bursa, Turkey from 6-10 September 2011.PREPARATION TASK:1. Introduce yourself on www.facebook.com/european.teachers2. Share your experience with diversity. Max. 10 lines, place them on thediscussion forum on facebook.3. Read the article that has been sent to you GLOBAL EDUCATION: THEINTERCULTURAL ASPECT: reflect on intercultural education in yourcountry. Is intercultural/inclusive education integrated in teacher trainingin your country? How ? Be prepared to discuss this in Riga.

Please do search for low-cost flights. In order to get your travel costs refunded, the official invoice of your flight mustbe given to the course co-ordinator as well as the boarding passes. When bookingonline, please make sure you obtain an invoice from the airline company at theirdesk at the airport before flying to Riga. Local travel to and from the airport will be refunded providing public transport isused. Public transport tickets must be handed over to the course co-ordinator. Taxis will not be refunded!We have booked the minibuses (costs covered by the project) for travel around Riga.
Please note: travel cost to Riga can be refunded up to the maximum amountindicated. If the real costs exceed these maxima, these expenses are to becovered by the participant themselves.
