  2. 2. MOBILE ZEITGEIST TRENDS, ANWENDUNGEN UND GEDANKEN ZUM MOBILE BUSINESS Survey Between December 11 and December 22, 2007 an online survey was carried out on the weblog ‚Mobile Zeitgeist‘. Ten questions were asked to find out how respondents use the mobile Internet on their cell phones. 134 readers of Mobile Zeitgeist participated. Conclusions Half of the predominantly male respondents are using a smartphone. Mobile internet is one of the most frequently used features on a mobile phone - 46 percent of them are using it on a daily basis. The lack of appropriate data plans is the main reason for not using the mobile Internet. But 15 percent of the non-users stated no specific reason for their non-usage. Most respondents do not use local search or navigation yet. Google is the preferred one under the mobile search engines also for local search/navigation purposes on mobile phones. © Heike Scholz http://www.mobile-zeitgeist.de
