    •  Born January 1st 1864  Hoboken, NJ Schooled in Germany to be an engineer  Moved to New York in 1890 to be a photographer Became an editor of Camera Notes in the Journal of the Camera Club of New York Died July 13th 1946  New York
    •  Alfred’s father bought out a small photography business and they worked together. Alfred became friends with the editor of The American Amateur Photography magazine, and began writing journal articles regularly. He ended up marrying a woman named Emmeline Obermeyer in 1893 in New York.  He later wrote that he did not love Emmeline, and that he was with her for the financial benefits.  Divorced after about a year. FINALIZED in 1924. He became consumed with work, until he met Georgia O’Keeffe in 1918 and got married in 1924.
