Moodle structure<br />Reflects Institute organisational structure Delivery Centre<br /> Department<br /> Program Area<br /> Qualification<br />Types of sites:<br />Qualification<br />Cluster of units or modules<br />Single unit of competency<br />Short course<br />(Cluster or single unit sites will have an associated qualification level site created and students will be automatically enrolled)<br />

Site creation<br />Sites are created by ELS Administrator<br />Sites can be requested by filling in the “Request a myLearning (Moodle) site” survey<br />Development sites can be requested by filling in the “Request a sandpit development site” survey<br />Allow 3 business days for site creation<br />
  4. 4. Account creation<br />Staff Moodle accounts are generated automatically once a staff member has been employed<br />Student accounts are created once the student appears on STRATA<br />Students can be enrolled individually or as a course group<br />Students can also self enrol<br />
  5. 5. Roles and responsibilities<br />E-Learning Services<br />Advise on most appropriate structure<br />Training and support for priority teams <br />Course introduction video production<br />E-Learning Leaders<br />General support and technical workshops<br />Course Co-ordinator<br />CIPs completed before site creation<br />LAPs are included in all sites<br />Qualification level site is populated with relevant information ie. course handbook, timetables, staff contact details, etc.<br />Ensure quality resources are provided<br />

Business rules<br />Course team approach<br />Complete Moodle Course Checklist for migration of sandpit to live environment<br />Students are not to be enrolled in sandpit courses<br />LAPs are to be included in all course sites<br />Courses are to backed-up regular intervals<br />Full list of business rules<br />
