A5
STAR is a data visualization tool to compare STAR
ratings for competitive analysis using CMS data. This
visualization facilitates comparison by both domain and
related measures across multiple plans. It gives a
granular break-out of ratings into different levels using
charts and graphs.
The salient features of A5
STAR include:
 STAR ratings comparison of contracts by State,
County and Lines of Businesses
 Drill down of STAR ratings by domain and
measure
 Comparison and drill down of up to three
contracts at a time
 Latest enrollment data, in sync with CMS
frequency, reflected on dashboards
IGATE currently offers A5STAR as a FREE service to a
select Medicare payers and PBA’s.

STAR can be used to analyze:
 competition during marketing efforts;
 performance for process improvement efforts;
 incremental reimbursement / bonus increase
opportunity areas

STAR by integrating
CMS data with claims, clinical and operational data to

ACCESSING A5
STAR
A5STAR can be accessed through the following link:
https://a5star.igate.com/
When the A5STAR home page loads you will be asked to
register. Enter your email address and click Proceed.
You will then be presented with the registration screen.

Enter your “NAME”, “PHONE” (optional) and choose a
“ROLE”. Click Proceed.
Privacy & Use: IGATE collects user
information only for tracking,
support and communication with
users. This information will not be
shared, transferred or sold to third
parties.
You will then be presented with the A5STAR dynamic
application. Choose the “Region” or “State” view radio
button. Then choose the “State” or “County” focus
from the drop down lists. A dynamic list of plans will
then be available in the “Select Plan” drop down list.
Select up to 3 plans for comparison in the “Select Plans”
drop down list. Now click Compare>. You will now be
presented with the A5STAR visualization for comparison
of those plans.
On the left navigation bar, click on any domain area to
see a list of domain measures. Click on any measure to
see a visual comparison of that measure between the
selected plans.
