  2. 2. WebMail 2.0 Overview <ul><li>Go Live Date: April 12, 2006 </li></ul><ul><li>URL: http://mail.hcpl.net </li></ul><ul><li>WebMail 2.0 is a more streamlined e-mail tool containing the features you need most. </li></ul>
  3. 3. WebMail 2.0 Login Page <ul><li>Current version does not allow you to select the language preference from the login screen. </li></ul>
  4. 4. WebMail 2.0 InBox Page <ul><li>After entering your user id and password you will be directed immediately to your inbox. </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Inbox Page <ul><li>Both versions of the inbox are similarly organized: </li></ul><ul><li>The Menu Bar contains all available functions (search, compose, create folders, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>The Left Navigation Bar contains the folders to ease navigation. </li></ul><ul><li>Main Area (where all the action takes place) </li></ul>1 2 3

WebMail 2.0 Menu Bar <ul><li>The new menu bar is static and will always be at the top of the screen. </li></ul><ul><li>The menu bar contains links to functions for managing and using e-mail, addresses, calendar, and folders. </li></ul><ul><li>Compose, Calendar, Search, Options, Help, and Sign Out (Log Out) options still available from the menu bar. </li></ul><ul><li>Address Book and the HCPL home page are now accessible via the menu bar. </li></ul><ul><li>The folder option on the new menu bar is a create folder option and not a folder navigator as in the old version. </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Left Navigation Bar <ul><li>This bar contains a list of folders and is available for navigation only. </li></ul><ul><li>Navigate to Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash and other created folders. </li></ul><ul><li>Some features like Organizing (Calendar and Address Book) and Options are now on the menu bar. </li></ul><ul><li>Other features like Information (for news and alerts) and Web Site (for polls) are no longer available. </li></ul><ul><li>Notice the quota usage is displayed here. </li></ul>
  8. 8. WebMail 2.0 Message Screen <ul><li>View Sender, Date, and Subject </li></ul><ul><li>Select all or some messages. Move, Forward or Delete messages. Mark messages as Read or Unread. </li></ul><ul><li>Navigate by selecting next or the number of the page you would like to view. </li></ul><ul><li>See navigation and quantity status (the number of the message being viewed currently, the total number of messages, the folder being viewed currently, etc.) </li></ul>
  9. 9. WebMail 2.0 Read Message Page <ul><li>Click on any message link in the inbox page to read your messages. </li></ul><ul><li>Reply or forward the message </li></ul><ul><li>Go to the previous or next message </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Compose Page <ul><li>Click on Compose link on left frame or when you click on “reply” button within the “Read Message” page </li></ul><ul><li>Insert signature, consult the address, save draft, and check spelling. </li></ul><ul><li>To add an attachment, click the “Browse” button, find & open the file to attach, and click on the “Add” button </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Address Book <ul><li>Click on the “Addresses” link on the menu bar </li></ul><ul><li>View Nickname, Name, E-mail, and Info for each entry. </li></ul><ul><li>Add names to the address book using the form at the bottom of the screen </li></ul><ul><li>Import and export address book (to be covered in a separate session) </li></ul>
  12. 12. WebMail 2.0 Calendar <ul><li>Click on the “Calendar” link on the menu bar </li></ul><ul><li>Choose month view or day view for scheduled appointments. </li></ul><ul><li>Features like Tasks, Notes, and Bookmarks are not available in this version. </li></ul>
  13. 13. WebMail 2.0 Mini-Calendar <ul><li>A mini-calendar can be added to the navigation bar </li></ul><ul><li>Scroll to the bottom of the Options page. </li></ul><ul><li>Check Small Calendar and choose a font for the calendar display. </li></ul><ul><li>Click the Submit button. </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Options <ul><li>Personal Information: Name, Address, Signature, and Reply-To E-mail (forwarding messages) </li></ul><ul><li>Display Preferences, Message Preferences, and NewMail Options control color, and sounds for incoming messages. </li></ul><ul><li>Checker and Display Preferences control default language, language(s) for spell-checking, and settings for personal dictionary. </li></ul><ul><li>Message Filters </li></ul><ul><li>Folder preferences and Index Order control the way folders and messages are displayed. </li></ul><ul><li>New Feature: Change Your Password </li></ul>

WebMail 2.0 Help and Training <ul><li>As with the previous version, context-sensitive help is available. </li></ul><ul><li>Address Book Migration Training on April 13 th , 2006 at 10am – 11am and 2pm and 3pm. </li></ul><ul><li>Create a ticket for any other questions you have concerning WebMail 2.0. </li></ul>
