      • Deliverables:
        • The database and associated applications needed migrating to new hardware and upgrading to current software versions. This would deliver cost a reduction and extend the product’s supportable life cycle.
      • Results:
        • Cybercom provided a total project solution which included specification, project management and development resources to perform the migration.
        • The new system was delivered fully tested and ready to run on time and in budget.
        • A sudden failure on the old system brought the implementation date forward, Cybercom’s ability to react quickly to events made this possible.
    14. Programme and Project Management Delivering business efficiency, technology refresh
      • Brief:
      • Complete a business transformation project, migrating a key database, and associated products, to new technology to allow the closure of a number of development centres

        • As with any project this involved combining unique activities with existing process and procedures.
        • Cybercom provided Reuters with the experience, tools and skills to tackle a project of this size and complexity.
    15. Business Analysis & Design Navigation and Financial Content Service
      • Brief:
        • Reuters wishes to be able to show the user information related to the selected entity e.g. a stock or a country. The relation will also depend upon the Reuters product being used and its knowledge of the user
      • Deliverables:
        • The solution was to build an XML service based upon an “inversion” of the Reuters search database. In the inversion, the service retrieves information categorising the chosen asset as opposed to finding an asset based upon categorisation information. The service allows for standard Reuters links and also can be customised directly by clients to add their own links. Screen content and layout in a number of products is also driven by this service.
      • Results:
        • Cybercom designed the service and identified the data sources required. The service is a success and is now in live running in a number of Reuters products.
    16. Business Analysis & Design Financial Mid-Tier Information Products
      • Brief:
        • Reuters faced a great deal of competition in the mid-tier range of financial information platforms. It was losing sales in this market through problems of relatively high cost of ownership for clients.
      • Deliverables:
        • The solution was to build a new range of products that were cheaper to deploy and support. The range is web-based and uses data from a number of different services including the navigation, content and search services designed and developed by Cybercom.
      • Results:
        • Cybercom supplied a financial business analyst who identified viable data sources for the products, advised on the data content required to support product screens and how the various sources should be merged.
        • Cybercom managed the programme to implement and roll-out the new products.
