This image represents the aspiring audience’s of pop music as the artists are made up to be beautiful by their sleek hair and natural makeup. Christina Aguilera is also looked up to by the female audience’s of pop as her appearance is also beautiful and because she is seen to be wearing red lipstick this also attracts the male audience as it adds sex appeal which is supported by her tiny outfit.

Pop artist – Katy Perry Katy Perry is a recent pop artist who is almost seen as Pop music's ‘Pop Princess’ as she is highly beautiful, has very popular songs and is loved by the media and her audiences. Katy Perry’s appearance is typically pop as it is influenced by pop art because of the bright colours not only on her clothes but on her wigs and lips. Katy's make up is usually natural however sexed up by a colour on her lips. As she wears constant revealing outfits this adds sex appeal for both men and women as she also has a huge gay following. Her gay following was introduced by her début single ‘I kissed a girl’. She has also had other songs such as ‘California girls’ and ‘Hot and cold’.
5. History of pop – Spice Girls The Spice Girls were a huge girl band in the 90’s. They sang fun upbeat songs such as ‘Spice up your life’ and ‘two become one’. The spice girls are one of the first bands who brought personality and individuality to girls bands by categorizing themselves. For example, each member had an individual stereotype, Mel b was known as scary spice; Geri was known as ginger spice; Mel c was known as sporty spice; Emma was known as baby spice and Victoria was known as posh spice. Each member continued their look throughout their career as a girl band. Individuality is still common today in bands such as ‘JLS’ as they each support their own individual colour.
