Weather is daily
(day to day) and
over a small period
of time. For
example – sun,
rain, hail, snow,
wind, cloud, fog
(haze) and thunder
Climate only changes
over a longer period
of time. Many
animals and plants
need one kind of
climate to survive ,
for example –
Dolphins and Palm
trees need a hot
climate , Polar Bears
and spruce trees
need a cold Climate.
Climate refers to the average
weather experienced over a long
period. The earths Climate has
changed many times in response to
natural causes. Our climate – Spring
(Rainy but getting hotter). Summer
(hotter but a few showers).Autumn
(less hot and more rain). Winter (Cold
, more rain and sometimes snow).
A graph to show Climate Change from 1860 to 2000
• Walk instead of getting the car because cars use more
green house gases (carbon dioxide)
•Buy food from local stores instead of from far away
• The greenhouse gases make thinks hotter.
• Every time we use electrical things, we produce more
green house gases
• Save paper you don’t need
• Shower instead of taking a bath, Turn off taps and
recycle rain water.
•Turn off appliances when you don’t need them.
