In this presentation, I will be explaining my initial ideas for a second
preliminary task.

3. Motivation
The short sequence will consist of one character seeing two others in the street.
That character will be a detective investigating a large drug deal that has
occurred in London.
The two other characters are suspects as they are well known for selling these
drugs from before. The detective questions about the late drug deal. The
detective finds drugs on them and threatens to arrest them. The two characters
are eventually revealed to be brothers of the detective.
4. Who are the characters:
Jack & Bobby – Two brothers who work together selling drugs.
Jack – the younger and more vulnerable one who always looks up to his older brother Bobby.
Bobby – The man in charge, always keeps his cool and wriggles his way out of dangerous situations
with his own unique way of talking to people
Nathan - A serious and keen detective with a mind set only on his job. He is also brothers with Jack
and Bobby, this will be used to create enigma codes in the video.
Why are they meeting:
The detective wants to question the two brothers.
Where are they meeting:
The detective finds the two brothers in a street.
What will they talk about:
The detective wants to know about their involvement with selling drugs and see if they’re staying
‘clean’.
Plan the setting/costumes:
Detective: Suit, detective badge, mobile phone
Brothers: Ragged clothes, cigarettes, possibly drugs
5. Dialogue
(Detective gets phone call)
Nathan: Yeah, I’ll get right on it now.
(fades out, Next scene)
(Tracking shot of detectives feet walking, Over the shoulder shot of him still walking)
(Crosscut to the two brothers in the street, Bobby sitting on a wall, and Jack standing on the curb at the
end of the street)
Bobby: It’s too quite out here today, lets make a move!
Jack: Hold on, let me get the stuff.
(Shot of Jack reaching under a car wheel, pulling out a small containment of drugs – worms eye view
shot from under the car)
(Match on action created for the detective walking around a corner)
(He finds the two brothers)
Nathan: No customers today, boys?
(He laughs)
(The two remain silent)
Nathan: How have you two been? I assume you’re both still clean from our last meeting.
Jack: Yeah, what do you want?
6. Nathan: Okay, I’ll get straight to the point. I was wondering if any of you two have heard about any drug
deals occurring in the last week?
Bobby: No, we ain’t heard anything. You know we’re clean.
(Nathan notices perspiring sweat on Jack’s forehead, shot reverse shot)
Nathan: What’s wrong Jack? You’re looking nervous.
Jack: Nothing, I’m fine. Why dont’cha go about your business now.
Nathan: Okay Jack, why don’t you put your hands out I’m going to have to search you.
Bobby: I don’t think that’s necessary, Nathan. (medium close up)
(He searches Jack and finds the drugs in his pocket)
Nathan: What the hell is this? What's wrong with you guys, do you want to get arrested? Do you think I
like doing this...To my own brothers? What the hell would mum think?
(Bobby lights a cigarette)
Bobby: So are you gonna arrest us, detective?
(He blows the smoke in his face, two shot)
