Global Warming

  1. 1. Global WarmingBy : Nilshan,Danyal ,Jesse andAhmed 8-B6
  2. 2. What is Global Warming?Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of Earthsatmosphere and scientists are more than 90% certain that it is primarilycaused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced byhuman activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation.
  3. 3. What do you mean by GreenHouse Gas?A greenhouse gas is a gas in an atmospherethat absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. Thisprocess is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.
  4. 4. What do you meanDeforestation?Deforestation, clearance is the removal of a forest or stand of treeswhere the land is thereafter converted to a nonforest use. Examples ofdeforestation include conversion of forestland to farms, ranches, orurban use.
  5. 5. What do you mean by FossilFuels?Fossil fuels are fuels formed by natural processes of burieddead organisms. The age of the organisms and their resulting fossilfuels is typically millions of years, and sometimes exceeds 650 millionyears. Fossil fuels contain high percentages of carbon andinclude coal, petroleum, and natural gas.
