Sensory Analysis A view of different tests
Preference Test
- All about product acceptability
- Opinions
- Likes and dislikes
- 2 types:
- Hedonic – give opinions on samples from ‘extreme like’ to ‘extreme dislike’.
- Paired – 2 samples indicate which they prefer.
Discriminatory
- Tell the difference between samples
Paired comparison
- Pair of coded samples given for specific comparison of a quality e.g. sweetness, crunchiness.
Triangle Test
- 3 samples are given, 2 are the same and 1 is difference.
- Have to spot the odd one out.
