The Inspiration behind Rosie Black

  1. 1. The Inspiration behind Rosie Black
  2. 2. After mind-mapping ideas about what sub-genreof film to make, we came up with the idea tocreate a Psychological Thriller. This premisecame from discussing films like Black Swan andThe Orphan. Both these films had aspects weliked.
  3. 3. Black Swan focussed on the idea of “split-personality” shown through the main charactersperformance of the „Black Swan‟ and „SwanQueen‟. This idea, of having a character with asplit-personality was very interesting and wouldallow us to show creativity in many ways.
  4. 4. Orphan also had interesting ideas. The maincharacter was hiding her true identity, somethingwith our character, Rosie Black, would have todo due to her personality disorder.
  5. 5. Also, the drawings in Orphan create a verysinister atmosphere as we don‟t expect childrento be so evil. Therefore, this is something else wewanted to include in the trailer.
  6. 6. Another film we took inspiration from was Hideand Seek. Again, this film involves a childantagonist which is much more sinister than anadult. Although we didn‟t use a child, having ateenager also creates a sinister atmosphere.
