  • Q:The number of infants and pregnant women in a subcenter area was counted during a survey and the following results were obtained:- No. of infants= 90 No. of PW= 52 Using the above information calculate the monthly requirement of the subcenter for a) Vaccine vials b) Syringes c) Diluents d) Vitamin A syrup

  • Step 2:Calculate the No. of Syringes For BCG we need 0.1 ml syringe No. of BCG injections=8X1.11 (WMF) = 8.88 =9 For TT, LPV, DPT, Measles we need 0.5ml syringe No. of TT + LPV + DPT + Measles =34+24+16+16 =90 x 1.11 =99.9 =100 For reconstitution (BCG, Measles) we need 5ml syringe =No. of BCG vials+ No. of measles vials =(3+5) X1.11 =8.88 =9
  • Step 4: Calculate the diluents required • Normal saline= No. of BCG vials = 3(ampoules) Distilled water= No. of measles vials =5(ampoules)
