Mark 13:33-37

Advent is a season of preparation for the Lord's coming. Jesus expects us to actively wait for his return in glory.

Active waiting involves making sure that our hearts and minds are fixed on Jesus.

Active waiting also involves discerning what God is doing in today's world and getting involved in that work.

God has made us his stewards. Active waiting also means carrying out the tasks he has entrusted to us.

Only by active waiting can we be ready to meet the Lord.

Those who actively wait for Jesus' coming will not be disappointed. They will experience his abundant love and extravagant grace.
