Digipak Day 1 – 6th DecemberToday I started on creating thefront cover of the Digipak. After discussing with the groupwe thought a good idea wouldbe to use one of thephotographs from the stopmotion we shot. The image onthe right is the one we choseas I think it best reflects thesong to our music video andwhat it is all about. Also thecomposition and expression Ibelieve is extremely successfulhere.
Digipak Day 1 – 6th DecemberTo make this photograph stand out alot more I decided to retouch this onPhotoshop. I did this by first of alladding brightness and contrast to thephotograph by using the level andcurve tool on this editing software. Ialso used the paintbrush tool toretouch his face and a few blemishes.
Digipak Day 1 – 6th DecemberI then started to add the text to theimage, this was the album name andthe name of the artist. We hadpreviously thought of the name ‘CodyBanks’ for the artist and also came upwith the album name ‘Moments’. Wethought a good idea would be to putthe title on the heart in thephotograph. Firstly I went on toDAFONT.COM and found a font that Ifelt would work well called‘BebasNeue’ I added this to the heartkeeping the colour theme of blackand pink.
Digipak Day 1 – 6th DecemberWe asked for feedback from peers and our teachers. One piece ofadvice was to have the hearts (the one he’s holding and the ones inthe background) in colour and the rest in black and white. I did thisby duplicating the layer, changing it to black and white and erasingthis colour change on the hearts. This worked extremely well andcreated a bold image with strong contrast.
Digipak Day 2 – 7th DecemberToday I started to make the digipack look more like a CD cover. Idecided to do this by editing the dimensions and also adding a ‘sticker’to it that you tend to see on covers.By changing the dimensions to 5x5 inches it cut of the two hearts atthe bottom, therefore I made these smaller so they fit in thedimensions.I also started to add the sticker that had the single on (song of themusic video) and also a made up song. I also added the text ‘bonusDVD limited edtion’
Digipak Day 2 – 7th DecemberToday I started on the back of thedigipak. I looked at some more CDcovers and found a cover that I reallyliked and influenced me to dosomething similar. This was ‘I createddisco’ by Calvin Harris. I Liked thelayout of this and the two coloursused. I started to make the back coverby creating a pink shape with blacknumbers on it. Then on the black sideon the right we made up some namesof songs. This looked successful.
Digipak Day 2 – 7th DecemberWe thought that it looked quiteplain, therefore I went on a fewwebsites that had free textures todownload for Photoshop. The two onthe right are the textures that I addedto the digipak. I added these andchanged the blending options whichcreated a grungy effect.
Digipak Day 2- 18th DecemberToday we focused on finishing the digipak. This was to do themiddle part of the digipak, and the two side photos. We used one photograph from thestop motion that we felt would suitthe brand identity in our digipakand music video. This was aphotograph where Tommy wasmaking a love heart sign. I editedthis to get rid of the writing on thechalk wall and also to retouch hisface. I then changed it to black andwhite as this was similar to thefront.
Digipak Day 2- 18th December• For the two sides to the digipak we decided to again focus on the word moments. I print screened lots of shots from the music video of the couple that showed memories. I then made this in to a collage with looked really successful. I also changed this to black and white to match the front cover and the middle photograph in the digipak.
