Maria Teresa Gonzalez Trull Friday 19 th June 1953
Born in the vibrant town of Santiago de Cuba, on Friday 19 th June 1953, just a week and a month before the legendary attack on the Moncada barracks which changed Cuban history forever- Maria Teresa Gonzalez Trull, my mother, would serve as an influential antecedent to many marvelous impacts in the world for the life to come… The second daughter to the fiery couple of globe-trotters Yolanda Trull and Miguel Gonzalez, she would also know the nature of cross-fires in family as well as culture from a very young age… She was destined to follow in her parents’ footsteps…Globe-steps…Before her eighteen years, she would explore… CUBA COSTA RICA ECUADOR ITALY
Not only did Maria view much of the fascinating world through travels, she also lived during one of the most exciting periods of the 2Oth Century…From the 1950s to the 1960s, her childhood was coloured with all the beautiful social paradoxes of life…
Out of this exciting era, came out a beautiful woman with vicious intellect and a desire to be part of the differences surging around her. After a “polysected” education in French, American, religious systems, Tere finally finished her high school education at the age of nineteen and set off to study medicine at the University of Perugia in 1972. There began the first exploitations of her liberty in the name of the Tony, the John and the Holy Hippy.
Mais assez Malheureusement … Notre mère courageuse, pleine d’esprit, décide abandonner ses études à Perugia pour chasser sa propre émancipation dans l’indépendance économique et l’étude de la sociologie… à L’Université Catholique de Louvain
After graduation, and many years of eventful goat stealing, discussions with friends like Otto, working in factories or cleaning up the vomit of other students as a student job and attending her big sister Yoli’s wedding, Maria did such things as:

Marry a rebellious, promiscuous Basque.

Get another job.

Have her first baby boy, Ian Gaizka Horacio Vicente Bustamante Otaduy on Monday 16 th June 1980.

Travel to Nicaragua for humanitarian reasons.

NOT TO MENTION... BECOME A MOVIE STAR AND PRINCESS!!! BUT MOREOVER... PLAYBOY GIRL!!!
Then suddenly, one day, chance stopped a little bit more abruptly than usual, and it never got its footing back fully as the beautiful Maria succumbed to a certain imprisonment… And so began the gruesome, horrific raising of four demons sent by Hell of Men to test the Saint Mother Maria Teresa in all the hardships of single-parenting…
But the real question, on this day of celebration, is not whether the choices she has made nor whether the experiences she has faced were right or good, wrong or bad… The real question today is who is this woman that stands before us? This woman I call my mother? Who is Maria Teresa Gonzalez Trull on this day of her 55 th birthday? To put it briefly… You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy When skies are grey You’ll never know dear how much I love you Please don’t take my sunshine away…
So no matter if the only Honours your boss got were in the art of Asshole and the science of Dickhead… No matter how many times your spoilt children forget to say thank you or kiss you… No matter how many times the diet will begin again tomorrow… No matter how hard it rains nor how hard your neighbours try to look constipated when passing you indifferently… No matter how many times you feel you no longer see the point, and just want to get on a plane to anywhere and/or nowhere… No matter what, you are the most beautiful, caring and intelligent mother to me, a heroine of a sort, and the most powerful person I know… Simply because you are my sunshine, and your sunshine also reaches a world beyond my heart. Just believe in yourself, the way others believe in you…And you will master wind, rain, storms and hale as well.
Donc ma petite maman, il ne reste plus rien à faire Sauf te souhaîter un joyeux anniversaire FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS I LOVE YOU!!!
What's next for Maria? Input from our listeners: So what do you say Mami? How about living it up for the next 55 years!!!
That’s all folks! "M" is for the million things she gave me, "O" means only that she's growing old, "T" is for the tears she shed to save me, "H" is for her heart of purest gold; "E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be, Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.
