  • An alluvial plain is a largely flat landform created by the deposition of sediment over a long period of time by one or more rivers coming from highland regions, from which alluvial soil forms.
  • The gallery forests support a diversity of wildlife and provide forage in the dry season for buffalo, waterbuck, and other large undulates.
  • Zebra and wildebeests are generalist grazers
  • Because of greater organic matter accumulation and reduced evaporation, which keeps the soil moist.
