1. Evaluation –
During my production process of my final major project for the water colour study and my final
presentation of that study I began by researching into different games and films that were similar and
best suited to the ideas that I wanted my game to be. The research that I did for my FMP proved that a
simple task, this is because I didn’t find the research difficult or challenging it was simple to go on the
internet and find what I needed and site the sources.
When producing my final water colour I had to first make the decision of how big I wanted it to be, by
this I mean that what size I wanted the paper to be and how large I was then going to make it on the
paper. I finally decided on A3, the reason for this was because I wanted it to stand out in a large scale
image. This decision came with its challenges as I knew that the work would need time and effort to be
completed not only because the size but because the detail that I wanted to put in it. The production of
the water colour was successful as I felt that I put enough time and effort into my work to be pleased
with what I finally created.
I also thought that the work that I created overall for my production was very detailed and of high
quality. This didn’t come without challenges as I spent a lot of time and effort putting the work into my
production and being happy with the choices that I made to be able to complete the production. I knew
as well as needing to get my work done on time I knew that mistakes could not be made as water colour
is very hard to mask and is impossible to go back and do something else.
When starting my production log I felt it was important to be up to date and add to it regularly. To do
this I made sure that during the week I would make a plan of what I wanted done and if I had done more
or less I would note it for that week. The production log was a difficult process as it was hard for me to
remember to regularly update and check my process, but in the end I found it a successful log of my
work as it was detailed and fully showed my work from research to presentation.
Also my production log needed to be dated and had to have a lot of detail and clearly describe and show
what I started working from, what my plan was, what I wanted to accomplish and what I finally
accomplished by the end of my assignment. This came with the challenge of me having to be dedicated
to my work and not changing my work half way through and making it complicated for myself. This
meant that once I had a clear idea of was I wanted to complete there was no changing it from then on.
This helped me stay within some deadlines and being able to complete them successful and with detail
and precision.
Overall I thought that the assignment for my FMP worked successfully and I feel happy with the work
that I have done and the time, detail and effort that I put into it to feel accomplished in my final
assignment. Finally I feel that the work is enough to deserve a decent grade for what I have done.
