  • 1. Adams Middle School “Under Construction”
    Architects of Change
    Welcome Back 2010
  • 2. Our Purpose:To empower you to take risks, both personally and professionally, in providing the best educational experiences for our students and colleagues.
    Let’s take time to …
    • Consider the value of sharing our problems and solutions
    • 3. Consider change
    • 4. Celebrate our common purpose
  • “One-Liners”
As long as you don’t change anything, I’m flexible.
It’s easier to ride a horse in the direction that it’s facing.
Leading and managing change in schools is like changing a tire while the car is moving.
  • 5. More “One-Liners”
Change always involves risk. You can’t keep one foot on first base and steal second.
People seem to be more resistant to the process of change than they are to the change itself.
  • 6. Even More “One-Liners
Past experience should be a guidepost, not a hitching post.
Remember, change is a process, not an event.
To grow is to change, and to become perfect is to change many times.
  • 7. There’s still more…
We’re not where we should be, we’re not where we’re going to be, but thank goodness we’re not where we use to be!
You don’t have to be sick to get better.
  • 8. “Architects of Change”By Monte Selby
Sit back, relax, and listen to the song “Architects of Change”.
Think globally about the power of working together to bring about change in our school.
  • 9. One Last Thing
“The best way to predict the future is to create it!”
    -Peter Drucker
Reflect and write in your journal…
Now is your chance to create your future!
Reflect on the upcoming school year.
Write about the ONE thing you plan to change in your classroom.
