  • 2. Early Life  He was born in 356 B.C in Pella, Macedonia.  He was strong.  When he was 12, he tamed a Bucephalus, witch means ox-head, a horse that no one else could ride.  He loved Homer`s books.  His first teacher was Leonidas.
  • 3. Early Life continued… His mother was Olympias. His father was King Philip ll. He slept with a copy of the Iliad under his pillow. His second teacher was Aristotle. His mother told him his ancestor was Achilles.
  • 4. Battles He won the battles of Chaeronea, Gracious River, Issus, and Jhelum River. He lost the battle of Gaugamela.
  • 5. Arrowheads that may have been shot from the bow of Alexander. the Great.
  • 6. Death On his way back from the battle of Jhelum River, Alexander was bit by a mosquito, developed a fever, and died in Babylon, Babylonia in 323 B.C at 33 years of age.
