  • April 18th 2012Judges, Senior ProjectCreekview High School1550 Owens Store RoadCanton, GA 30115Dear Judges: My name is Haley Goodwin, I did my project to learn more about French Cuisinebecause I would like to have been a chef and move to France one day. I have always wanted tobe a chef because I found out there is so much art behind creating something you would enjoy toeat. I want to move to France because I have always been fascinated with French culture. When Itook French class I figured out I enjoy the language but not only that, I would want to learn moreabout the culture itself. My senior project product is a French Cuisine consisting of an apple tart as the appetizer,crêpes as my main course, and Mousse au Chocolate as my dessert. My French cuisine relates tomy research paper because it teaches you how to become a chef but also gives you a feel onbeing a multicultural chef. Finding a good mixture and the right recipe was one of the biggestobstacles I had because some of the types were to bizarre to create. I went from many varieties ofrecipes till I finally found the right ones. I chose my three favorites and they have had a verygood outcome among people that have tried it. Chefs need to be multicultural because in order to be a great chef you have to know morethan one cultures way to create food. You have to understand how each cultures natural flavorsmix together to create their natural dishes and be able to create that and take one countries dishand mix it with another’s without conflicting flavors. Being a chef is also a people person, youtend to get out more and learn about other cultures history. It allows you as a person to growmore but gives you a new and fun creative interest. In order to pursue this as a college career youneed to go to a college such as Art Institute of Atlanta which offers Culinary Arts classes. I think for senior project it makes sense to do because it helps you research and learnmore about the career of your choice to be able to allow you to actually see if this is somethingyou want to pursue. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to allow me toexplain my project; I hope it had interested you about learning something from the Frenchculture.Sincerely,Haley Goodwin
