  • To discuss a strategic partnership to exploit the market potential in Egypt
  • Cambridge University Press is a not-for-profit organisation and a department of the University of Cambridge, much as the Engineering, History and other faculties are. Our primary motivation is to support and encourage learning. Our brand is also very much aligned with another department of the university – Cambridge Assessment, which includes both Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Cambridge International Examinations. A body of senior scholars is responsible to the University for the Press’s affairs. The Press Syndicate meets regularly (eighteen times a year), and its role includes the review and approval of the Press’s planned publishing output. So for three centuries this basic idea of an academic press, owned by the University, supervised by a body of its senior members, and aiming to publish works of learning to the greater credit of the University as a place of education, learning and research has stood the test of time.
  • Although we were founded over 500 years ago, our reputation today is as a modern, world-leading academic and educational publisher with expertise in writing high quality learning materials. We produce new material with the learners and teachers, for the learners and teachers, ensuring it is not only of high quality but also that it is engaging them and motivates them in their learning. The face2face, English Language Teaching course, visible above is adopted by the British Council, Egypt.
  • We have extensive experience of using new technologies to aid learning and a rapidly increasing focus on digital media. Our expert team is dedicated to the development of resources for changing educational environments. In particular we have developed ELT materials for the interactive whiteboard through our joint venture company Cambridge-Hitachi; they are in use with all age groups. Through this expertise and through partnerships with assessment and e-learning providers worldwide, Cambridge is able to offer resources such as the blended learning course we have worked on with Cambridge ESOL for Italian universities. Delivery of content through blended media is certain to be of increasing importance worldwide in the future.
