  4. 4. Effects of noise pollution to human Noise pollution has many harmful effects on the physiological and psychological health of human beings. The effects of noise pollution on the health include hypertension, annoyance, high stress levels, aggression, hearing loss, tinnitus, sleep disturbance and many such health problems. Apart from traffic and industrial machinery, poor urban planning is also one of the causes of noise pollution.
  5. 5. Effects of noise pollution
  6. 6. Types of pollution Types Noise control techniques include: Sound insulation Sound absorption Vibration damping Vibration isolation
  7. 7. Causes of noise pollution Public/Private Transportation Vehicle – these are one of the daily causes of noise pollution in our streets, public hi-way. Industrial Machinery – there are so many various examples of industrial machinery that creates severe disturbing and hazardous sounds to the industrial workers. Construction Sites – we all know that every construction area uses huge equipments as part of their job like pay loader, crane, cement mixer, bulldozer. Loud Speaker – using loud speaker in public or private areas like residential, commercial establishment, public market, concert arena. Big Events – we all love celebrating big events such as birthdays, anniversaries, house parties, festivals.

  9. 9. Control of noise pollution Control of Noise Pollution by obstructing the path of Noise By constructing soundproof buildings, the menace of sound pollution can be minimized. Plants also help in controlling noise pollution because they absorb high frequency sound waves. Thus, planting trees along the roads help in controlling noise pollution.
  10. 10. Exposure to high sound levels
  11. 11. Aircraft noise FA-18 Hornet breaking sound barrier
