  8. 8. Uses for Teaching The following outlines some of the uses for each: Like Youtube, use a video camera to create web-video content to upload to TeacherTube. Create assignments that are only available via Twitter Send “extra credit” assignments via Twitter Teach students about the power of web pages and web-content by having each create and manage a Wordpress website.

What Students Need to Learn <ul><li>To be successful in the graphic arts community as well as in any profession, the following are skills that social media will help develop: </li></ul><ul><li>Networking – Tools such as LinkedIn are important tools in business to create a network of business professionals, professional groups, and potential hiring opportunities </li></ul><ul><li>Professional Credibility – The more recognizable your name is on internet searches, you will be seen as having a strong reputation and as a credible source </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of Multi-Channel Communication – the more web savvy a student becomes, the more knowledge he or she will gain of the strength of multi-channel communication </li></ul>
