  • 2. Introduction to Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery
  • 3. Course Structure -
    Course is for 4 ½ along with 1 year of Internship
    The course is divided into various semester, with a stipulated Six months for each Semester.
    The course can be divided in to three phases, as described below
  • 4. Eligibility -
    Level of Education Required
    10+2 Years of Education with a Minimum of 50 % of the aggregate in class 12and
    Minimum 50% to 60% (depending on the University) with compulsory subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biologyand
    English as a compulsory subject  in the qualifying examination

  • 5. Future Prospects-
    Practicing Medicine
    Government Hospitals and Government Services
    After Completion of MBBS one is eligible for Service in government hospitals and other government services across government establishments across the country.
    Private Hospitals
    One could also work for Private hospitals and Organizations as a full time Doctor or as a visiting Doctor.
    Independent Practice
    A MBBS degree holder could also start independent practice as a physician; this however is done following few years of engagement with government and Private hospitals. The growth potential in independent practice is exponentially High.
  • 6. Private companies
    • Organizations such as Manufacturing companies and Insurance Companies employ Doctors on a Part-time or Full-time basis.
    • 7. In insurance companies doctors are important to address the authenticity of insurance claims.
    • 8. Many other larger corporations also employ doctors as part of their employee benefits' Companies
    Teaching
    Medical Colleges
    An established Doctor can also take up teaching on a part-time or full-time basis in Medical Colleges
  • 9. Further Studies -
    M.D (Doctor of Medicine)
    A master’s degree in Medicine can be pursued in the area of specialization of one’s interest from India or Abroad.
    M.S. (Master of Surgery)
    Masters of Surgery can be pursued from India or Abroad
    Diploma Courses
    Various short and long duration diploma course can be pursued in tandem with practice following MBBS
