      • Internet is a tangible network of computers sharing/exchanging information with the help of PROTOCOLS.
      • It started in U.S. in 1960 as ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency)
    3. W W W or W 3
      • Originally developed in early 1990’s at European Center For Nuclear Research (CERN) at Geneva ,Switzerland for scientists to share information.
      • Web is GLOBAL in scale and it’s graphical environment can be navigated through HYPER LINKS.
      • URL (Universal Resource Locator) are the address LINKS to locate web pages.
      • Web pages are truly MULTIMEDIA. It consists of text, graphics, audio, animation and video.
      • By the virtue of it being DIGITAL, web pages can be searched more easily and efficiently than any physical volume .
      • Today W W W is the complete realization of INTERNET.
      • Powerful browsers, servers, programming tools and its multimedia component have made it the paradigm of the future COMMUNICATIONS.
      • Want to meet new people, do exciting things, explore the world? Want to stay home too? You can do both, simultaneously, when you go online.

      • NANOTECHNOLOGY
    5. BLUETOOTH
      • In the name of Danish King Harald Bluetooth who unified Denmark, Norway and Sweden, BLUETOOTH tries to unify devices.
      • A technology used to replace cables by low-cost short-range RF (Radio Frequency).
      • Pair the devices with a simple virtual “Handshaking” process to establish the connection @ 1Mbps.
    6. HDTV
      • High Definition Television
      • It allows the broadcast of signals at a higher resolution than traditional broadcast formats.
      • That gives wider and sharper images. Pictures twice as clear as those seen on DVD’s.
      • Today TV contains about 480 lines of detail resolution whereas HDTV have up to 1,080 lines.
    7. NANOTECHNOLOGY
      • “ NANOTECHNOLOGY”, term coined by Nomo Taniguchi in 1974.
      • Today Laptops are being replaced by PDA’s , iPODs.
      • Pocket Super-computers.
    8. SOCIOLOGICAL INFERENCE
      • Exotic and strange land called CYBERSPACE.
      • It has developed new internet LINGO just as For Your Info. [ FYI ], EMOTICONS or SMILEYS :-) and fellow NETIZENS.
      • New world order : World shrinking to be a village.
