What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
<ul><li>Our film would be distributed by a major company because it follows the codes and conventions of a horror film. </li></ul><ul><li>Such as low key lighting, disturbing the equilibrium, lulling the user into a false sense of security. </li></ul><ul><li>These help produce a horror film that will appeal to the most people. </li></ul><ul><li>If it did not adhere to the general form of a horror film then a smaller niche company would distribute the film and it would not be as mainstream. </li></ul>
Marketing <ul><li>Viral marketing - using different techniques to get people talking about the film. </li></ul><ul><li>These techniques involve websites with shocking news on and ‘accidentally’ releasing ‘top secret’ information and images. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a useful technique because it is low budget (e.g. creating websites are cheaper than newspaper adverts and TV commercials) </li></ul>
Web 2.0 <ul><li>Web 2.0 is a good way of promoting media. </li></ul><ul><li>A blog can be created as a source of information for our audience. The audience can follow it and it keeps them up to date. </li></ul><ul><li>Also, people can comment and suggest on your blog. Which helps you improve and also create a community which helps promote your media. </li></ul>
Our Blog <ul><li>We used a blog to advertise our media and allow people to suggest to each other by sending a link to them. </li></ul><ul><li>The blog is free to run, which means it is a very efficient way to promote our media. </li></ul>
