I’m editor of a News site – how do we use technology to do our job? We are not providing people with the technology – others do that – MSN, Facebook, Google People are connected anyway But how does it change our role as a news organisation, and what does it enable us to do? http://www.nowpublic.com/ which is almost completely user-generated. Of course, Global Voices http://globalvoicesonline.org/ plays a similar role but that is essentially a blog aggregator. Ushahidi But what is interesting is that when the BBC does do something like this the response is pretty large and it does have a big impact because - I suppose - of our reach. So here are the examples I think we should point to:
