    1. Page 1 Hyperion Planning Installation - Part 1b SQL Server 2008 Express Setup Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Welcome back to the second section of part 1. Yesterday I showed you how to install SQL Server 2008 Express and today we will go through the configuration and setup for Hyperion Planning. To start off we need to launch the Configuration Manager.
    2. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup If you drill on the Network configuration and the Client Configuration this is what you should see. Select Protocols for SQL to see the 4 Protocols on the right hand side that we need to configure.
    3. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Right click the Shared Memory to access the properties. Ensure the Shared Memory protocol is Enabled and Click OK.
    4. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Right click the Named Pipes to access the properties. Ensure the Named Pipes protocol is Enabled and Click OK.
    5. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Right click the TCP/IP to access the properties. There are 2 tabs here, Protocol and IP Addresses. First ensure the TCP/IP protocol is Enabled and then click on the IP Addresses tab.
    6. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup In the IP addresses tab ensure all IP’s are enabled and type in 1433 in all TCP Port section for all IP’s. Click Apply and then OK.
    7. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Right click the VAI to access the properties. Ensure the VIA protocol is Enabled and then click OK.
    8. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Go to Client Protocols and ensure all protocols are enabled. Click on SQL Server Services and restart the SQL Server (SQL) Service.
    9. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Open up the SQL Server Management Studio. You can login with the Windows Authentication by simply clicking on Connect.
    10. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup In SQL Server Management Studio right click on Database and select New Database.
    11. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Name the database ‘hypdb’ and Click OK.
    12. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Drill down on Security and right click on logins to select New Login.
    13. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup Create a login ‘hypuser’ with SQL Server authentication and password of your choice. Remove the Enforce password Expiration and change the Default database to ‘hypdb’. Select Server Roles on the page menu.
    14. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup If all operations complete successfully without any failing, Click Next.
    15. Page 4 Sql Server 2008 Express Setup You have now Installed SQL Server 2008 Express. Click Close
