  • Letter Writing – Group Service Project
    • Letter writing campaign to soldiers overseas.
    • Gather up your friends, relatives, and other community members to write letters to service men and women overseas.
    • Starting in January 2010 – February 2010
    • Send them to us here at Keystone by March 1 st so that we can get them sent out!

  • What should the letter include?
    • Make the letter chatty
      • Introduce yourself
      • Talk about things you enjoy doing
      • “Thinking of You”
      • Thanking them for their service
    • It can be a letter or a card. They do not need to be in envelopes.
    • Please, no glitter – it causes a mess in it’s travels!
  • What should our goal be?
    • We will keep track of how many letters we have collected on our website – so keep a close eye!
    • How many letters should we aim for?
    • Since we are starting this in January, we will have sample letters for you to use at the next meeting (if you need some help).

      • Annual food drive at school, Concession stand work at High School Football games, Presents for Patients, and Highland Country club golf drive
    • All four work experiences need:
      • Scheduling, Communication, and Cooperation
  • Highland Country Club golf drive
    • History
      • Just had the 2 nd annual golf drive this past summer
      • Provides golf instruction to underprivileged youth and to girl golfers
      • Age range 7 to 17 years old
  • Role Play
    • Give golf instruction
    • Show children the proper way to hold golf club
    • Have putting and long drive contest
    • Teach children to swing the golf club on the proper plane
    • Assist luncheon / dinner for workers and participants for golf drive
  • How did I get Involved?
    • Club Professional asked for my help
    • I played golf in college at have made it to a couple of national golfing events
    • I have a passion for golf and teaching
    • My inner self knew I was making a difference
  • Why I Participate?
    • I have a passion for golf and teaching
    • I knew I was giving back to the underprivileged youth and to promote golf to females
    • I’m the club champion for the past 6 years
    • I hold the club record of a score of 62
  • The Organization in Detail
    • Highland Country club
      • Opened since 1922
      • 10 minutest away from the city of Pittsburgh
      • 300 members make up the club
      • Currently in process to be sold
  • What Impact does the Organization have?
    • Provides golf instruction
    • Members hold a silent auction for charitable contributions for kids to get golf clubs
    • Community gathers to assist underprivileged youth
