  • 1. Whitetail Deer By Dain Petipren
  • 2. Info
    • The white tail deer is a expert at survival. They have adapted well to plants to eat. After years of study we have seen what deer like to eat such as, cedar and white pine. Deer don’t like as much are, Aspen and Jack pine. The trees they hate and only eat when starving are spruce birch and red pine.
  • 3. facts
    • The white tailed deer stands at 2-3,4to 3ft1,2in at the shoulder a male can weigh from 100-300lbs. During the summer mouths they have a more red-brown fur. As winter comes nearer it turns more gray in color. Then when spring comes the Male or Bucks grow antlers. A layer of velvet helps the growing of the antlers.
  • 4. Territory
    • Whitetail Bucks can be a little serious when it comes to territory. The deer will take about 40-300 acres to them selves. Although they are territorial they still let the does enter. Does are female deer to toughs who didn't know. You cane see if your in deer territory if you see a Buck rub witch is show here on this picture.

    • When the deer grow there antlers they don’t just use then for show. The whitetail buck will then fight for the ladies. The bigger the rack the farther the reach to attack. If the does like what they see the winner will get to mate with the doe they fight for. The deer use sent glands on there back legs to tell if there in heat.
    Relationship Rights
  • 6. Wide Awake
    • When a deer wakes up it gets to work. They will be most active during the morning and night hours. In the morning they will look for food to eat. While out they will look out for each other. When a Deer is spooked it will raise its tail. At night it will head home and do it all again tomorrow.
  • 7. Geographic Location
    • The white tailed deer doesn't have feet like you and me. Instead it has hoofs such as a horse. The white tail is actually the most abundant hoofed animal in the U.S.of.A.
  • 8. Weather Toloration
    • The deer is made to tolerate many weather conditions. Mainly in winter is the hardest. They face starving every year. The doe came even predict if the have enough food to keep to unborn fawns. If not it came forcibly have a miss carriage.
  • 9. Bovine Tuberculosis
    • This dieses will manly effect the digestive track. The dieses came spread to the head or lungs. If you do kill a deer when dressed look for little pea sized noodles. It will slowly affect the deers mobile abilities.
  • 10. Harvesting
    • The harvesting process is very important to the DNR. They need to see where the deer was shot either state or privet land. How old the deer was and the gender. This is vital to know so they can estimate the population. If this is not know they cant make up the dates and tags to keep the population in good condition.
  • 11. Plant Effect
    • When deer set up a territory they would rather starve than leave it. So if they have crop on there land they may cause damage to the profit. The deer will eat the crop until gone. Or till dead witch is bad news for the crop owner. Unless they starve the deer.
  • 12. Deer Problem
    • Deer can be very hard to control. You can spend 500$ on fence that they will ether jump or destroy. The best way to take care of the deer is deal with it. They have adapted to use so adapt move your plants. So if you want a garden watch for deer.
