  6. 6. So he opens his thr oat to sing
  7. 7. The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown…
  8. 8. … but longed for still…
  9. 9. And the tune is heard on the distant hill
  10. 10. For the caged bird sings…
  11. 11. . . .of freedom. . .
  12. 12. The free bird thinks of another breeze
  13. 13. And the trade winds soft Through the sighing trees
  14. 14. and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn and he names the sky his own
  15. 15. But a caged bird stands on a grave of dreams
  16. 16. his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
  17. 17. The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown…
