    • Capital augusta:
    The capital of Maine is Augusta and the most important cities are Portland, Bangor, Bath, Biddeford, Lewiston, Old Town, Saco.
  • 5. AUGUSTA It’s the capital. The population of Augusta is 18,500.
  • 6. PORTLAND It’s the largest city. It’s characterized by its old port
  • 7. Almost 80% of Maine is forest GEOGRAPHY Maine is a state surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean
  • 8. It’s an area with many lakes, the largest is Moosehead Lake
  • 9. The major rivers are Androscoggin River, Kennebec River, Penobscot River, St. John River This is Androscoggin River
  • 10. The highest point is Maine is Mount Katahdin at 5,276 feet above sea level. Mount Katahdin is located in Baxter Sate Park.
  • 11. Maine has got warm humid summers. The Winters are cold and snowy are especially severe in the northern parts and in coastal areas are moderated somewhat by the Atlantic Ocean. Maine is generally safe from hurricanes and tropical storms. CLIMATE
