    • The Climate is mostly desert; with hot, dry, sunny summers and mild, rainy winters happen along coast. Cold weathers with snow or sleet happen periodically in Damascus
    • The terrain usually has little rainfall and long flat deserts. It has narrow coastal plains with mountains in west .
  • 3. Physical
    • Syria has natural resources such as petroleum, phosphates, chrome and manganese ores, asphalt, iron ore, rock salt, marble, gypsum and hydropower.
    • Some problems that Syria has right now are deforestation, overgrazing, soil erosion, desertification, water pollution from raw sewage and petroleum refining wastes and inadequate potable water.

    • Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Lebanon and Turkey.

    • Arabic is the official language in Syria along with Armenian, Aramaic, Circassian being widely understood with French, English somewhat understood
    • Ethnic groups in syria include 90.3% of Arabs, with Kurds, Armenians, and other being 9.7%.

    • The religion on Syria includes Sunni Muslim being 74%, other Muslim types being 16%, Christians being 10%, Jewish being the tiny communities in Damascus, Al Qamishli, and Aleppo.
    • Syria’s population is 19,314,747 people.

    • The industries that Syria has are petroleum, textiles, food processing, beverages, tobacco, phosphate rock mining, cement, and oil seeds crushing.
    • Syria exports 175,000 bbl oil per day.
    • It also exports crude oil, petroleum products, fruits and vegetables, cotton fiber, clothing, meat and live animals, wheat.
