  • You are wrong, Lataji was recording only a song a day since 1960 to help indirectly though,to help Ashaji. Ashaji's husband had taken her out if Lataji's home in protest to her alleged monopoly and that is the reason why Lataji's stipulation for a song a day,which she was getting a day. Neither Rafisaheb or Lataji did not lose anything,but it was the composers who felt that way and they arranged for their pairing again.

  • Lataji was recording only a song a day as early as 1960 or 63,which she was getting from her solos only. She did not take any initiative to make up with Rafi or SD Burman. When several people in the industry approached her she obliged,that's different. Rafi lost his cool when he addressed her 'Maharani' (royalty issue) I don't blame her. Rift with Burmanda happened in a different way. After Lataji left the recording the studio following a recording Burmanda send a person to tell her that the song was to be recorder again. She politely told him that she will do it some other day because she was engaged other wise had to leave immediately. But the messenger conveyed a totally different message that she would not do it. Is it her mistake. I r=too believed all those allegations against her but now I am convinced that she is innocent. Rafi had felt let down when they sang Tasveer teri dil mein (Maya). Salilda sided with Lataji when there was an argument how to sing a certain portion. Actually that was fuming inside him which forced him to insult her by the 'Maharani' address.

    • LATA MANGESKAR IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGERS OF HINDI FILM INDUSTRY. SHE IS LISTED IN THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS AS THE MOST RECORDED ARTIST IN THE WORLD. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT SHE HAS MORE THAN 30,000 SOLO, DUET AND CHORUS BACKED SONGS IN 20 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES FROM 1948 TO 1987.
    • NOW IT MUST WAY OVER 40,000, LATA MANGESKAR WAS BORN ON 28 th SEPTEMBER 1929,IN A PLACE CALLED INDORE.HER FATHER DINANATH MANGESKAR WAS A RENOWNED CLASSICAL SINGER HIMSELF.LATA WAS INTRODUCED TO MUSIC AT A VERRY YOUNG AGE .

    • SHE WAS REJECTED ON THE ACCOUNT OF HER THIN VOICE! BUT GHULAM HAIDER SAW THE POTENTIAL IN HER AND GAVE HER A CHANCE TO SING IN THE FILM MAJBOOR. THE SONG DIL MERA TODA FINALLY GOT HER NOTICED AND IT WAS TOUTED AS HER BREAKTHROUGH SONG. IN 1949, SHE HAD FOUR MAJOR HITS FROM THE FILMS BARSAAT, ANDAAZ, DULARI AND MAHAL.

LATA ROSE TO FAME RAPIDLY AND MADE HER INDELIBLE MARK IN THE INDUSTRY. SHE HAS SUNG WITH FAMOUS SINGERS LIKE MOHAMMED RAFI, KISHORE KUMAR, MUKESH, ETC. SHE HAS PERFECTED ALMOST EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC.
