  • 2. Higo Camellia (肥後椿)
    • January ~ March.
    • Clean-cut and single bloom.
    • Traditional flower of Kumamoto.
    • The history more than 200 years.
    • The color of the flowers have white, pink, scarlet, and the like.
  • 3. Higo Peony (肥後芍薬)
    • Beginning of May.
    • Higo peony belongs to perennial plant.
    • Peony's scientific name is paeonia lactiflora.
    • The total length of the peony is about 60 cm.
    • Peony's petal color is white, pink and purple.
  • 4. Higo Calamus( 肥後菖蒲)
    • Beginning of June.
    • Higo calamus is the native flowers of Japanese, Korea, China and Siberia.
    • Calamus belongs to perennial plant.
    • Higo calamus is ornamental plant.
    • The total length of the calamus is about 80 cm.
  • 5. Higo Morning Glory (肥後朝顔)
    • July ~ September.
    • Kind of color is red, pink, blue, sapphire, maroon, purple and white.
    • It grows more than 3 meter.
    • Flower's size is 10~15 centimeter.
  • 6. Higo Chrysanthemum (肥後菊)
    • End of November.
    • Higo Chrysanthemums is classic chrysanthemums that were grown and developed in Higo district in the end of 18 century.  
    • Higo Chrysanthemum's peculiarity is to exist the opening between the petals.
  • 7. Higo Sasanqua (肥後山茶花)
    • October ~ December.
    • Higo Sasanqua's peculiarity is a large flower. 
    • Generally this flower is one fold blooms, but exist double flowers.  
    • Flower's colors are white, pink, red, reddish purple, and the like.
    • Higo Sasanqua come into flower from November to December.
  • 8. Remark
    • I have never know about Higo rokka, so I think that I was good to know about it. (Mai H.)
    • I knew Higo rokka for the first time when I read about it in the Internet. (Ayaka F.)
    • I knew only Higo camellia in Higo rokka. I want to see original. (Saeko F.)
    • I researded Higo’s flowers, and I thought that their flower are very beautiful. (Chizuru M.)
