    2. Eno’s Youth
      • Eno grew up in Sussex in the small town of Woodbridge.
      • His early education was under Catholic influence, but at 16 he decided to leave to study at Ipswich Art School
      • After 2 years then switched to go to the prestigious Winchester Art School
    3. Early work
      • When going to the Winchester Art School he formed his own bands….

    4. Brian Eno and Tom Philips
      • The two met at Ipswich School of Art
      • Phillips taught art but was very influential in Eno’s introduction to music
      • Phillips and Eno became very close as Phillips took him to experimental music concerts in london
      • Piano Tennis …..
      The two of them experimented with sound tennis in which they would take second hand pianos, strip them naked and then line up against a wall and begin to play hand ball against them….
    5. Roxy Music
      • In 1971 Eno joined a new and upcoming glam rock band called Roxy Music.
      Eno used electronics as an integral instrumental element of rock and roll. “ The technician became a kind of magician, charming audiences with an appearing sexy hermaphrodite on stage, a walking art object delineated in exquisitely applied mascara and adorned in gorgeous peacock blooms” Brian Eno Biography
    6. Going solo… Eno left Roxy Music in 1973 after ‘musical differences’ with band member Brian Ferry. From here he braved it solo which proved to be a good career move…

      • During Eno’s time in one of his bands Maxwell Demon, he owned 31 tape recorders …
