How many people are infected with AIDS? <ul><li>Africa is estimated to have more than 60% of the population is infected with AIDS today. </li></ul><ul><li>Each day, an additional 11,000 more people get infected. </li></ul><ul><li>Each day, 6000 more die. </li></ul><ul><li>In Africa, especially southern, the average life expectancy is only 48 years because of aids </li></ul>
  4. 4. Why is aids worse in Africa than in the U.S.? <ul><li>A major lack of education. </li></ul><ul><li>A shortage on hospitals for the amount of people infected. </li></ul><ul><li>Lack of prevention methods coupled with hard to find quality treatment. </li></ul>

Where in Africa do the most people get AIDS <ul><li>Most of the infection occurs in Southern Africa </li></ul><ul><li>Almost every country in Southern Africa has at least a 10% infection rate. </li></ul><ul><li>Two-thirds of all people living with aids and HIV are found in sub- Saharan Africa, although his region contains little more than 10% of the worlds population. </li></ul>
