    • A worldwide interest in introducing English to young learners in primary schools

  • THE CHALLENGE: How to create quality programs for young learners?
    • TMET: creation of a program focused on English clubs

  • CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS PROGRAM:
    • 1- It exposes children to the English language before moving to the middle school
    • 2- it is built on pupils’ previous experiences learning a 2 nd language with Latin letters

    • 3- it must not overwhelm learners who are still developing skills in their 1st and 2 nd languages

    • 1- introduced at the level of the 5th grade
    • 2- introduced as a club activity

    • 4- based on the Tunisian context

    • 1- to help children develop a positive attitude towards the English language
    • 2- to sensitize children to the sound system of the language

    • 1- it is a group experience
