The Story of “First” <ul><li>He was one of the first fifteen year olds to serve as an ambulance driver with the Red Cross during the First World War. </li></ul><ul><li>He was the first to see the nationwide potential of a small family business operating out of California. </li></ul><ul><li>He was the first man to apply the principles of mass production to the service industry. </li></ul>

Contd… <ul><li>During the late 1950s, Kroc tried his hand at selling paper cups. </li></ul><ul><li>He worked as a pianist for a short period of time. </li></ul><ul><li>He traveled around the country and sold milkshake machines to various different cafes and restaurants. </li></ul><ul><li>During this time he ran across a small hamburger restaurant in San Bernardino, California named McDonald's. </li></ul>

Ray Kroc, McDonalds and Fast Food Industry <ul><li>In 1954, a fifty-two-year-old milk-shake machine salesman saw a hamburger stand in San Bernardino, California. </li></ul><ul><li>Ray Kroc opened his first McDonalds in 1955 in Des Plaines. </li></ul><ul><li>In 1956, Kroc set up the Franchise Realty Corporation. </li></ul><ul><li>He revolutionized the American restaurant industry by imposing discipline on the production of hamburgers, french fries, and milk shakes. </li></ul>
