    1. Living a healthy life Nathan
    2. The Importance of Good Health
      • Being health doesn’t mean that you will never be sick or be good at sports.
      • Being healthy means being the best you can be at any given time.
    3. Your Health Triangle
      • The three elements of health are interconnected, like the sides of a triangle.
      • When one side receives too much or too little attention, the whole triangle can become lopsided and unbalanced.
    4. Influences on Your Health
      • What situations and people affected you health at each stage of your life?
      • How have influences on our health changed through the years?
      • How do early influences still affect you today?
    5. Abstaining from Risk Behaviors
      • Abstinence is avoiding harmful behaviors, including the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs and sexual activity before marriage.
      • Depending on where you live, there are legal age restrictions on most of these subjects.
    6. Interpersonal Skills
    7. Benefits to Physical Health
    8. Risk of Physical Inactivity
      • More than one in three teens (35%) do not participate regularly in vigorous physical activity.
      • Regular participation in vigorous physical activity declines significantly during the teen years, from 73% of ninth graders to 61% of twelfth graders.
      • Only 29% of teens attend a daily physical education class- a serious decline from 42% in 1991
    9. Physical Activity Pyramid
    10. The Food Guide Pyramid
      • The food guide pyramid is a useful tool for making healthful food choices each day.
      • By eating the recommended number of daily servings from each food goup, you’ll achieve a balanced eating plan.
      • Keep in mind that meals often include foods from more than one group
