Slide 4: Why we need this • Amount of information is not getting any smaller – People are taking more photos, videos, etc • Scientific publications (journals and patent sources) are becoming more complex and difficult to locate via regular searches • Experts are not always available (or willing) for categorizing scientific data • Human generated / curated tags add reliability to databases / search engines • Users categorize this information anyway
