Evacuation in World War Two - Presentation Transcript

  1. Evacuation in World War Two By Laurence Scott
  2. What Was Evacuation?
    • Where millions of children were sent out of cities and into small villages in the country side
    • This was because the cities were being bombed
    • Mums and Babies were evacuated together
    • They all would go to live with another family for a while
  3. How did it happen?
    • The children would all be sent away usually as a class
    • They would of nearly all travelled by train then they went by buses
  4. Once they got there
    • Once they got to the town they would go to the town hall or a similar place
    • Some of them would have had aunts and uncles or other relatives to stay with
    • The rest that didn’t would go and stay with the local people from the town and surrounding villages
  5. Living with strangers
    • For the people that didn’t have relatives to stay with they would be staying with strangers
    • For some people this was a bad experience
    • This was because the villagers thought they were dirty and caused trouble
  6. The End
