LOCKDOWN <ul><li>CODE RED: </li></ul><ul><li>LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES </li></ul><ul><li>If a threatening situation arises that necessitates the quick securing of the school, the following procedure will be followed: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Check outside classroom. Bring any student in the hallway to the nearest classroom </li></ul><ul><li>Close and lock all doors and windows </li></ul><ul><li>Move all students away from doors and windows </li></ul><ul><li>Remain in lockdown until you are instructed otherwise face to face by an administrator or law enforcement officer. </li></ul><ul><li>Disregard any requests that are made over the phone or public address system to do otherwise, even if made by administration. Instructions must be given face to face . </li></ul><ul><li>Take attendance </li></ul><ul><li>Students must remain silent. No one is to leave the room </li></ul><ul><li>If gunshots are heard, direct students to lie down on the ground and then lie down yourself. </li></ul><ul><li>Use the phone only for emergency calls to the office </li></ul>

SUSPICIOUS/UNKNOWN PERSON CODE RED <ul><li>CODE RED </li></ul><ul><li>School wide lockdown - follow lockdown procedures </li></ul><ul><li>If you encounter a suspicious or unknown person on campus: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Ask if you can help or assist them </li></ul><ul><li>Refer the person to the office to get a “Visitor’s Pass” </li></ul><ul><li>If the person is uncooperative, contact the office immediately to report a CODE RED. If no one answers, use your cell phone to call 911 </li></ul><ul><li>If the threat is validated, an administrator or designee will initiate LOCKDOWN procedures </li></ul><ul><li>ALL VISITORS MUST HAVE AN ID BADGE ! </li></ul>

WEAPONS ON CAMPUS CODE RED <ul><li>CODE RED </li></ul><ul><li>School wide lockdown - follow lockdown procedures </li></ul><ul><li>If you become aware of a gun or weapon on campus: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Contact the office immediately without alerting the students </li></ul><ul><li>Give as much information as possible about the armed suspect and weapon </li></ul><ul><li>Remove everyone from the area </li></ul><ul><li>IN ALL CASES – USE EXTREME CAUTION. DO NOT CONFRONT THE SUSPECT </li></ul><ul><li>If the threat is validated, an administrator or designee will initiate LOCKDOWN procedures </li></ul>

FIRE <ul><li>CODE ORANGE: </li></ul><ul><li>FIRE DRILL PROCEDURES </li></ul><ul><li>In the case of an actual fire or smoke is detected use the following to evacuate the building: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Activate the fire alarm system </li></ul><ul><li>Notify the office NOTE: Office personnel will call the fire department </li></ul><ul><li>Evacuate as quickly and orderly as possible </li></ul><ul><li>Check that no students are left in the classroom </li></ul><ul><li>Proceed to your designated evacuation area at least 200 feet from the building </li></ul><ul><li>Carry grade book and check roll once outside </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for further instruction from administration. DO NOT RE-ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT INSTRUCTION FROM ADMINISTRATION. </li></ul>

FIRE OR SMOKE CODE ORANGE <ul><li>CODE ORANGE </li></ul><ul><li>Exit building using fire drill procedures </li></ul><ul><li>If there is an actual fire or smoke: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Activate the fire alarm system </li></ul><ul><li>Notify the office NOTE: Office personnel will call the fire department </li></ul><ul><li>Evacuate as quickly and orderly as possible </li></ul><ul><li>Check that no students are left in the classroom </li></ul><ul><li>Proceed to your designated evacuation area at least 200 feet from the building </li></ul><ul><li>Carry grade book and check roll once outside </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for further instruction from administration. DO NOT RE-ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT INSTRUCTION FROM ADMINISTRATION. </li></ul>

CODE YELLOW <ul><li>CODE YELLOW </li></ul><ul><li>BOMB THREAT </li></ul><ul><li>Turn off two-way radios and follow fire drill evacuation plan </li></ul><ul><li>If your receive a bomb threat via phone or face to face, it is critical that you follow the procedures below: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Write information on the “ Bomb Threat Report Form” </li></ul><ul><li>Write down the phone number on the caller ID if possible </li></ul><ul><li>Report all information to the office immediately </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for administrative action </li></ul><ul><li>In the event that evacuation is required use the following procedures: </li></ul><ul><li>Evacuate as quickly and orderly as possible </li></ul><ul><li>Check that no students are left in the classroom </li></ul><ul><li>Proceed to your designated evacuation area at least 200 feet from the building </li></ul><ul><li>Carry grade book and check roll once outside </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for further administrative instruction </li></ul>

Bomb Threat Code Yellow <ul><li>CODE YELLOW </li></ul><ul><li>Turn off two-way radios – Exit building following fire drill procedures </li></ul><ul><li>If you receive a bomb via phone or face-to-face, it is critical that you follow the procedures below: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Write information on the “ Bomb Threat Report Form” </li></ul><ul><li>Write down the phone number on the caller ID if possible </li></ul><ul><li>Report all information to the office immediately </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for administration action </li></ul>

Bomb Threat Evacuation Code Yellow <ul><li>CODE YELLOW </li></ul><ul><li>Turn off two-way radios – Exit building following fire drill procedures </li></ul><ul><li>Follow these evacuation procedures if students are to be removed from classrooms due to a bomb threat: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Place book bags and other personal belongings on desk or table </li></ul><ul><li>Evacuate as quickly and orderly as possible </li></ul><ul><li>Check that no students are left in classroom </li></ul><ul><li>Carry grade book and check roll once outside </li></ul>

CODE BLUE <ul><li>CODE BLUE </li></ul><ul><li>MEDICAL EMERGENCY </li></ul><ul><li>If you have a medical emergency that requires assistance, follow the procedures below: </li></ul><ul><li>ACTIONS TO TAKE: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Determine the severity of the injury or illness </li></ul><ul><li>Call 911 if the situation calls for it. </li></ul><ul><li>Contact the office personnel immediately using the intercom or a cell phone </li></ul><ul><li>NEVER MOVE THE VICITIM. FOLLOW ALL CPR AND FIRST AID STANDARDS </li></ul>

CODE GREEN <ul><li>CODE GREEN </li></ul><ul><li>BEHAVIORAL EMERGENCY </li></ul><ul><li>If you encounter a violent student, use intercom to call office to request assistance </li></ul><ul><li>Actions to take: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Contact office personnel immediately using intercom or cell phone </li></ul>

CODE GRAY <ul><li>CODE GRAY </li></ul><ul><li>WEATHER EMERGENCY </li></ul><ul><li>Move to safe area </li></ul><ul><li>Actions to take: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Check roll and keep all students in the classroom until further notice from administration </li></ul><ul><li>In the event that students need to be moved to a safe area: </li></ul><ul><li>Move students quietly and quickly to the nearest hallway </li></ul><ul><li>Assume the “self protection position” </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for further administrative direction </li></ul>

Tornado Warning CODE GRAY <ul><li>CODE GRAY </li></ul><ul><li>SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCY </li></ul><ul><li>If a tornado has been sighted in our area, faculty and staff will be notified when a tornado warning is in effect. </li></ul><ul><li>Actions to take: </li></ul><ul><li>Remain calm </li></ul><ul><li>Quickly and quietly move all students to the nearest hallway and have them crouch to their knees and cover their heads with their hands </li></ul><ul><li>Wait for administration to give an all clear before moving students </li></ul>

Hurricane Emergency Plan CODE GRAY <ul><li>CODE GRAY </li></ul><ul><li>HURRICAN EMERGENCY PLAN </li></ul><ul><li>If a Hurricane Watch/Warning has been issued the following steps should be taken before evacuating the school </li></ul><ul><li>Action to take: </li></ul><ul><li>Cover all electronic equipment in the room with plastic bags </li></ul><ul><li>Unplug televisions, computers, and other electronic devices </li></ul><ul><li>Move electronic equipment away from windows and doors </li></ul><ul><li>Leave floor as clear as possible of materials in case of flooding </li></ul><ul><li>If a hurricane watch or warning were to be declared during a school day </li></ul><ul><li>Administration will notify all parents and have children picked up early </li></ul><ul><li>Faculty would follow the plan above </li></ul><ul><li>Follow weather advisory for Pasco County Schools. </li></ul>
