Free Geek Providence Free Geek is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to addressing the digital divide by providing computer training, redistributing computer technology and providing volunteer opportunities to our community while maintaining relationships with responsible recycling partners. Free Geek Providence formed in 2008 as an independent branch of the original Free Geek in Oregon, with a mission to help local schools and families access technology, to recycle electronics responsibly, and to educate the community.

Free Geek Pvd History August 2008 February 8th September 5th March 22nd Free Geek Providence First NewBCamp held at Moved into space at 50 computers donated founded by Nate Hutnak Johnson and Wales Johnson and Wales to Cranson West Harbourside Campus High School 2009 2010 October 20th April 1st October 18th Became a non-profit in Began 501c3 process 66 broken and out of Rhode Island date cellphones have April 9th been collected and sent to be recycled Second NewBCamp held at Providence College April 24th Free Geek day. Over 50 computers donated to local non-profits and schools

Technology Combating spread Groups which focus on the devastating impacts of electronic waste and fight to of E-waste provide sustainable options.
