  13. 13. <ul><li>Each village section had chosen 1 woman and 1 man for the VWSC </li></ul><ul><li>Of the 13 voluntary members, 3 left due to time constraints </li></ul><ul><li>Four women and six men remained, nicely distributed over the four classes </li></ul><ul><li>The women are quite satisfied with the balanced representation </li></ul>With the men’s 4 classes, they made a matrix of VWSC members by sex and class

At Random Stratified Sampling for Home Visits <ul><li>Welfare groups: Bottom (17), Low (16) Middle (46), Upper (9) </li></ul><ul><li>Proportional sample of 20 households (22,5%) gave Bottom (4), Low (4), Middle (10), Upper (2) </li></ul><ul><li>Sampling started with lowest number. Chandra numbered 9 slips 1-9, placed them in a bag and picked 2 slips: no’s 1 and 3 came up. </li></ul><ul><li>She then added slips for no’s 10-16 and Mamita picked 4 by chance </li></ul><ul><li>One more slip was added  17 and 4 picked at random </li></ul><ul><li>Then more slips were added up to 46 and 10 slips picked at random for the poorest group </li></ul>

At Random Stratified Sampling for Home Visits (2) <ul><li>In the village, the team numbered all houses/class. </li></ul><ul><li>Using the lists of random numbers, the villagers helped identify the chosen households </li></ul><ul><li>Four groups were formed and each group visited one part of the village, taking the listed households and accompanied by a local guide </li></ul><ul><li>The teams explained and discussed the sheets and noted the agreed scores </li></ul>
