The first of the Nintendo Handheld Series. Games were viewed using the screen which was made up of 4 shades of Grey. Probably most memorable for the game Tetris, it has sold over 150 million units worldwide and is the most successful video game ever released
Gameboy Pocket 1998
The Gameboy Pocket was released the same time as Nintendo's N64 console in 1998. It was a slimmer upgrade to the original and came in a variety of colors. The playing screen was still in Grey.
Gameboy Color 1998
Much like the Gameboy pocket except for the fact it has color. Released the same year as the Nintendo 64.
Gameboy Advance 2001
An upgrade of the Gameboy Color and Pocket. It uses Gameboy advance cartridges and Gameboy Color cartridges. Also equipped with color and additional buttons.
Gameboy Advance SP- 2003
Same applications as the Gameboy Advance but has a different shape, size, and has a light up screen for game play in dark places. It also has a rechargeble battery.
Nintendo DS 2004
The first model of the Nintendo DS series. It is rather large and bulky and is compatible with the gameboy advance SP charger. Can play Nintendo DS Cartridges and Gameboy Advance Cartridges.
Nintendo DS Lite 2006
Same applications as the Nintendo DS but its screen is a lot brighter. It also has a different charger than the original DS. Also smaller and more portable.
Nintendo DSI 2009
The most recent model of the DS series. It is equipped with a lot more applications than the DS or the DS Lite. An example it the built in camera and the WI FI Connenction.
