Business Case <ul><li>Almost 1/3 of the US population is over 55 years old. </li></ul><ul><li>45% of 70-75 year old are currently online. </li></ul><ul><li>19% of those 65 and older have home broadband access using a computer. </li></ul><ul><li>50% of Americans age 65 and over have cell phones </li></ul><ul><li>84% of English-speaking Hispanics have cell phones </li></ul><ul><li>71% of blacks have cell phones </li></ul><ul><li>61% of lower-income Americans use cell phones </li></ul><ul><li>Actively using non-voice data applications on their cell phones. </li></ul><ul><li>College-educated adults once were the predominant population using the internet, but now people with high school educations or less are going online. </li></ul><ul><li>But how do we ensure that this cyberspace will actually benefit older adults and increase their quality of life? </li></ul>Source: Pew Internet & American Life Project
