How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

iMacs.
We used this form of computer during this product because it enabled us to use software and programmes that would not be available on other types of computers.

Final Cut Express
One of the programmes we were able to use was Final Cut Express. This program was used to edit and capture our footage. We used it in the planning stage to see what certain ideas would look like. We also used it when filming our storyboard for research and planning. It enables us to add effects, such as reversing and editing speed. It also allows us to edit the colour of our footage.

Live Type
Like Final Cut Express, we used Live Type in all stages of our project. In the planning, we used it instead of writing on the blog and incorporated it into our footage. We used it in the main text to make the video look more professional by having an introduction of song name and artist.
Both Final Cut Express and Live Type were very user friendly and easy to use.

Windows Microsoft Powerpoint and Word
Both these universal softwares were used at different stages during the project, from evaluating to analysing texts. They were very useful throughout our project and added to the different variety of software used.

Paint and Photoshop
For our initial ideas of ancillary texts, Microsoft Paint was used to illustrate them.
After that we used Photoshop to make the texts look more professional and have a wider range of ways to edit out texts until they were perfect for us.

Equipment
For the filming we used a school camera; a Sony Handycam. This was simple to use as we had had a lot of practise last year during our project. We tried different angles and shots during the planning stage. For example, we realised that the zoom on the camera did not look as effective as we would have liked it to so we made sure we didn’t use a zoom in our main product.
Another piece of equipment that was introduced to us this year was the tracker. This allowed us to use tracking shots if we placed it under the tripod which enabled us to vary our use of shots

Equipment
Most of our lighting was natural, and we tried to plan out our filming so that we got the best light at the right times. However, we did use the artificial lights during the dance scene, strobe lights during part of the part scenes and the lights available on stage for the other party scenes. This enabled us to get a variety of lighting and create the club like atmosphere we wanted

Internet Website
We used www.vox.com as our blog this year. We knew it best and thought it allowed us to make things presentable and allowed us to upload things without becoming over complicated.
